Face Your Fears

Facing your fears. One of the key challenges most of us face today, is their inability to overcome their fears. And it is difficult to succeed or triumph in the things you are afraid of….

Although, you may have failed before, doesn’t mean you are a failure. Always remember, failure is only a delay but not defeat.

Yet, if you ever think of giving up as a result of your past failures, consider what John Mason said, “Successful people are not afraid to fail. They go from failure to failure until at last success is theirs.”

A good example is Abraham Lincoln, he failed in business, was defeated for state legislator, ran for congress and was defeated, Senate lost, until he was elected as a President of the United States. What matters most is not how many times you fail, but that you never stop trying.

Eight Types Of Friendship

Friendship is everything whether personally or professionally. It determines our impacts, our success, and our growth in life. In the race of destiny, some friends will make you fly, others run, others walk, and yet, others will make you crawl. Thats why, “If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl but, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.” Good friends do not only keep company with us, but they also bring out best in us.
I came across this inspiring article written by Liz Spencer and Ray Pahl. They identified 8 different types of friendship.

1. Associates: They are people who only shared a common activity, like a hobby or a sport.

2. Useful contacts: They are people who shared relevant information and advice, typically related to work or advancing ones career.

3. Favor friends: They are people who helped each other out in a functional manner, but not in an emotional manner.
4. Fun friends: They are people who socialized together, but only for fun. They didn’t provide each other with a deep level of emotional support.
5. Helpmates: They are a combination of favor friends and fun friends. They socialized together and helped each other out in a functional manner.
6. Comforters: They are like helpmates, but they also provided emotional support.

7. Confidants: They disclosed personal information to each other, enjoyed each other’s company, but weren’t always in a position to offer practical help, for example if they lived far away.

8. Soul mates: They displayed all the elements.

As I said earlier, friendship is everything whether personally or professionally. What stage are you or rather, which types of friendships are you targeting?

Success quote

We all are destined to be great, but you don’t wish to be great, you work your way into greatness. That’s why David Frost said, you don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

Don’t Give Up

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all – Dale Carnegie

Keep on trying – Is too early for you to quit! The answer is not by quitting but thinking it through – What can I do in this situation I am in? Be it relationship, academic or workplace. Have you thought of this? No one ever become a champion or succeed by quitting, even when the battle gets tougher.

Remember the case of Thomas Edison, how he encounters several challenges trying to invent electricity but at the end he was able to overcome it.

Another good example is Abraham Lincoln, although he was rated as one of the best American Presidents yet; he faced many setbacks but he refused to give up until he was elected as 16th American President.

Although, I don’t know what your own case maybe; but what I do know is that; there is always a way out if you only ENDURE TO FINISH

The Kind of Dream

The kind of dreams you have in life; will determine the kind of problem you face. Little dream attract little problem. Big dreams attract big problems. A wise once man said, there is one precept that you must remember, as you begin your career or when you start taking steps towards your dream….
“Failure will never overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong enough” – OG M.
